GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

*On-Site Only

Coordinate with transportation companies the delivery of bananas, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of the fruit along the logistics chain, under the quality and safety standards established by the company.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

• Direct contact for carriers with respect to Order Notification, Order Changes, Cancellations, Delayed Loads, Problem Loads, Rejections, Overweight, and Accidents to maintain a good relationship with them and ensure the timely arrival of the product.
• Liaison between Carriers, Ports, Sales, Product Manager and Director or Transportation. Work with all regarding product availability and transportation issues.
• Process freight bills and resolve invoice discrepancies of the carriers, to ensure the correct collection and payment to the carriers. Maintain and update files on all freight payables.
• Prepare and distribute reports, to ensure the availability of necessary and timely information related to the fruit sent to the different ports.
• Maintain all files, transportation documents and reports in an organized manner and create and update Western Division Rate and Freight Differential spreadsheets.
• Work with District Managers on customer service/freight related issues for loads out of all 3 Ports, to solve all issues and provide and excellent customer service.
• Train other Transportation Divisions in AutoPay (payable system), to comply with their requirements.
• Monitor arrival, availability and AQI/USDA Holds for containers arriving into Tacoma and Los Angeles on 3rd party vessels.

** EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:**

AA Degree or higher.
