Role Description
The Packer Field Technician - Downhole Field Service Completions Supervisor will oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of downhole completion systems. This full-time, on-site role in Laurel, MS, involves supervising field operations, ensuring safety compliance, conducting equipment inspections, and providing technical support during installations. The supervisor will work closely with clients and team members, ensuring efficient execution of all field service activities while maintaining high-quality standards.
Job DescriptionPryor Packers is seeking to hire two full-time Servicemen / Packer Field Technicians to support our growing field operations involving production and remedial packers as well as other associated tools.
Candidates with 3+ years of direct packer experience are preferred. Packer experience is preferred, but if you are a strong hand from fishing tools, cementing, or a toolpusher background, we want to talk.
This is a field-based position requiring technical ability, sound judgment, strong communication, and a commitment to safety.
Duties and Responsibilities· Oversee and run production and remedial packers and related equipment at customer job sites
· Account for, caliper, and measure packers and equipment against service orders
· Review well data, prepare tallies, organize paperwork
· Calculate displacements, capacities, buoyancies, and pressures
· Create accurate well bore diagrams
· Record job reports accurately and complete schematics and field tickets
· Identify potential downhole or operational issues and communicate with the customer
· Work effectively with rig crews, customers, and third-party personnel in high-pressure situations
· Operate vehicles and equipment safely at all times
Qualifications· Alternative experience considered: fishing tools, cementing, or toolpusher / rig operations leadership
· Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair expertise
· Ability to perform field calculations and maintain accurate documentation
· Strong communication and troubleshooting skills
· Ability to work in demanding field conditions
· Valid driver's license
