Job Title: Fabrication Quality Control (QC) ManagerLocation: Long Beach, MS (Open to Relocation)Employment Type: Direct HireWork Environment: 100% OnsiteTravel: 0–5% local travel to fabrication shop, office, or job sites as neededCompensationSalary: $88,000-120,000 annually (based on experience)Bonus: Discretionary annual bonusPosition SummaryWheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Fabrication Quality Control (QC) Manager to oversee and manage quality control and assurance processes for fabrication operations supporting industrial and process piping projects. This role provides technical leadership to ensure fabricated products meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, project specifications, and client expectations.The QC Manager will work closely with estimating, engineering, and fabrication teams to ensure consistent quality, compliance with applicable codes, and continuous improvement in fabrication processes. The ideal candidate has experience within pipe fabrication, process piping, or mechanical subcontractor environments , along with strong knowledge of engineering drawings, fabrication methods, and estimating standards.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Control LeadershipDevelop, implement, and maintain quality control standards and procedures aligned with industry codes, project specifications, and client requirementsOversee daily inspection of machinery, equipment, fabrication processes, and working conditions to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standardsPrepare daily inspection reports and provide recommendations for corrective actions when quality issues are identifiedEstablish and maintain quality assurance policies, procedures, and quality manuals supporting ISO 9001:2015 and ASME certification standardsFabrication Quality OversightPerform and document in-process inspections and verification for piping, plumbing, and sheet metal fabricationEnsure fabricated products meet project design specifications, applicable codes, and client requirementsInspect fabrication documentation and maintain records required for quality compliance and project documentationPrepare project turnover documentation and quality packages for completed workWelding & NDE ManagementTest and certify welders and welding procedures according to applicable codesMaintain welder continuity logs in compliance with industry standardsCoordinate and schedule contract Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) testing as requiredRegulatory ComplianceEnsure all quality control activities comply with industry regulations, codes, and project standardsMonitor regulatory changes affecting fabrication and piping standards and communicate updates to internal teamsData Analysis & Continuous ImprovementAnalyze quality metrics, trends, and performance data to identify opportunities for process improvement and defect reductionConduct root cause analysis and support corrective and preventative actionsLead or support cross-functional quality improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and product qualityEstimating & Bid SupportReview Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and assist estimating teams with quality requirements and bid specificationsSupport cost estimating efforts related to fabrication processes and project requirementsUtilize established KPI metrics to determine performance factors and labor hour calculations during estimate developmentCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with estimating, engineering, project planning, and fabrication teams to resolve quality concerns and implement corrective actionsSupport development of fabrication strategies for new projects or process improvementsTraining & Team DevelopmentProvide training, coaching, and mentorship to quality control personnel and fabrication staff on quality standards and best practicesPromote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout fabrication operationsRequired Qualifications3+ years of quality control experience within pipe fabrication, industrial/process piping, or mechanical subcontractor environmentsExperience working in a fabrication shop environmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and fabrication documentationExperience with cost estimating related to fabrication and B31 piping workKnowledge of pipe fabrication methods, materials, and project specificationsFamiliarity with process piping unit rates and estimating references such as '73 Price Book or Page & NationsStrong analytical, documentation, and quality inspection skillsAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced fabrication environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with modular estimating3+ years of quality control management experience in pipe fabrication, industrial/process piping, or mechanical subcontracting . Experience in implementing and/or maintaining ISO 9001 standards within an organization. Fabrication shop experience.Experience utilizing KPI metrics for labor hour build-up and performance factorsCertified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferredASNT Level 2 in ASME B31 piping.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office SuiteSkills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and quality management capabilitiesAdvanced knowledge of fabrication quality standards and inspection proceduresStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and documentation abilitiesAbility to collaborate across engineering, fabrication, and project teamsHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality standardsWork EnvironmentThis position operates primarily within a fabrication shop and office environment and may include exposure to industrial work settings, including equipment, welding operations, and fabrication processes.#J-18808-Ljbffr
