POSITION: Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing

WORK LOCATION: Long Beach Campus

SHIFT: Monday – Friday. Actual schedule will be determined during interview.

MINIMUM PAY: $58396.07 Annually

$10,511.29 TDL

Current State Personnel Board Policies will determine actual salary.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates the development, interpretation, and implementation of standards of nursing

practice. Coordinates and participates in the determination of conditions, resources, and policies essential to delivery of nursing care services. Reviews and analyzes trends pertinent to delivery of nursing care services within the department and initiates appropriate action. Assists in maintaining patient care standards by supervising and directing activities of subordinate nurses engaged in quality assurance, infection control, and utilization review activities. Assists with determining suitable organizational structure and staffing requirements for the facility during an assigned shift and reassigns employees when necessary. Observe employees as they perform tasks to ensure efficiency in work activities. Performs BLS (Basic Life Support), CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and other emergency responses. Provides registered nursing care when other registered nurses are not available. Selects, mentors, motivates, and directs development and evaluation of the staff. Establishes and tracks quality improvement indicators and other information concerning services and care to ensure that resources are available to provide quality services. Counsels with nursing staff. Reviews medical records and maintenance. Monitors delivery of services through reports, staff meetings, and on-site visits. Monitors regulatory compliance. Maintains a nursing work schedule to provide patient care. Records, reports, and interprets clients' responses and collaborates with appropriate members of the interdisciplinary team.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in nursing; AND
four (4) years of experience in nursing as a Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner, of which one (1) year must be in management, administration, or consultation and two (2) years of which must be in a supervisory capacity; and licensure as required below; OR
graduation from a state approved nurse practitioner program with credentials (certification); AND four (4) years of experience in nursing as a Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner, of which one (1) year must be in management, administration, or consultation and two (2) years of which must be in a supervisory capacity; and licensure as required below; OR a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in nursing; AND five (5) years of experience in nursing as a Registered Nurse, of which one (1) year must be in management, administration, or consultation and two (2) years of which must be in a supervisory capacity; and licensure as required below;
OR graduation from a three-year diploma or a two-year Associate Degree nursing program; AND six (6) years of experience in nursing as a Registered Nurse, of which one (1) year must be in management, administration, or consultation and two (2) years of which must be in a supervisory capacity; and licensure as required below. One year experience working with persons with IDD preferred.
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
Must have a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Mississippi. Must possess approved certificate in area of practice.
Documentation Required:
