Dental Assistant Full-Time - SOUTH MISSISSIPPI SMILES (GULFPORT)

We have the job for you! SOUTH MISSISSIPPI SMILES is offering a full-time opportunity as a Dental Assistant at our GULFPORT office. We are an upbeat team looking for an individual who has a passion for helping others and wants to make a positive difference in their community.

CERTIFICATIONS: CDA or RDA required, X-ray certification preferred

EXPERIENCE: Must have Dental Assistant certification

JOB TYPE: Full-time

SCHEDULE: MONDAY-FRIDAY

PAY: Starting at $12.00-$14.00

BONUS PAY: up to $500 additional per month

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Work chair-side with dentists, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties

* Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays)

* Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment

* Take impressions of the patient's teeth (models), extractions, composite fillings, etc...

* Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)

* Ask about the patient's medical history and take blood pressure and pulse

* Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment

* Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
