Packaging associate will be responsible for the production and/or packaging of a variety of manufactured products. This is an essential a support role for several areas of distribution, including but not limited quality and assembly.
**POSITION SUMMARY**
This position is responsible for the production and/or packaging of a variety of manufactured products. The Packer position is a support role for several areas of distribution, including but not limited quality and assembly.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
* Perform packaging operations per customer orders
* Operate packaging machinery effectively
* Complete packaging orders within the deadlines
* Clean machines and work area at the end of every shift
* Complete daily production reports and submit to Supervisor.
* Load bags and cartons on pallets manually as needed
* Modify packaging and weigh bags to meet customer specifications
* Ensure compliance with operational policies and safety standards
* Assist colleagues with their job duties when needed
* Perform production duties such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, labeling operations and sorting
* Prepare labels for shipment in accordance with the work order and customer requirements
* Check labels to verify accuracy of quantity
* Notify the Supervisor of shortages
* Label and ship in accordance with packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices
* Maintain product stock in work area
* Organize work orders and verify they are correct with the item being labeled
* Read work orders and verify the materials pulled for packaging matches the work orders
* Verify all numbers match the work order
* Adjust work orders as required when the material is short, based on the work order
* Performs other duties as assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS** (**Education, Experience, & Skills required)**
**Education** - High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
**Skills and Ability** - Follows instructions and responds to management direction.
**Language Skills** - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Must be able to recognize similarities and difference between words and between series of numbers.
**Work Environment**
This position operates in a warehouse environment, using standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, and forklift equipment.
