Chemours is seeking Maintenance Mechanic to join our growing Titanium Technology team! This position will report directly to the Maintenance First Line Supervisor at our DeLisle, MS location.
Maintenance Mechanics repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Operates mobile equipment such as a fork truck, manlift, scissors lift and farm tractor.
- Performs basic machine operations such as operating a drill press, band saw, hydraulic press, and performing grinding operations and precision measurements.
- Performs welding operations such as oxyacetylene cutting and shielded metal arc welding.
- Performs basic structural work such as building work platforms and ladders. Maintains building handrails, steps, grating, ladders, piping systems and related equipment.
- Repairs, troubleshoots, and replaces equipment such as centrifugal pumps, valves, conveyors, steam traps, agitators, and gear boxes.
- Replaces minor equipment such as mechanical seals, bearings, and relief valves.
- Performs overhauls on major equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance such as changing oil and filters, dye checks, and visual equipment inspection.
- Performs pipefitting functions such as fabricating pipe, removing old pipe, erecting, and installing new pipe.
- Reads, interprets, and follows written instructions such as Standard Maintenance Procedures.
The following is required for this role:- High School diploma or GED equivalency
- Minimum of five (5) years of industrial experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be proficient in two or more skills and have a knowledge of others. Skills emphasized are millwright, pipefitter, welder, boilermaker, and machinist.
- Valid Driver's license
