About the Position: This position is with the Mississippi Forestry Commission in Area 36, with duties and responsibilities in Claiborne, Copiah, and Jefferson counties. This is a First-level professional Forestry position accountable for preparing county fire plans and training county crews in fire suppression, timber management, and safety work. Jobs at this level prepare detailed forest management plans for landowners; mark timber; assist in locating timber markets and supervise prescribed burning activities. Jobs at this level also plan and administer safety programs, inspect and direct maintenance of fire-fighting equipment, and perform fire detection and suppression activities.
