H2O Innovation is currently seeking a new Water Meter Technician to join our team in Gulfport, MS. Our next colleague will hold a full-time & permanent position. In this role, the water meter technician will be responsible for executing work orders related to water meter management, primarily focusing on the disconnection and reconnection of meters for delinquent accounts. This role plays a critical part in helping to recover lost revenue by ensuring unpaid meters are turned off and services are properly restored when payments are made.

The Day-to-Day

• Perform meter cut-off's for delinquent accounts to ensure timely disconnection of unpaid services;
• Performs meter cut-on's after payments are received and service restoration is authorized;
• Conduct rereads of meters when discrepancies or issued are identified in prior readings;
• Respond to customer service requests regarding meter service status;
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all meter cut-off's and cut-on's;
• Collaborate with the water billing department to address delinquent accounts and coordinate disconnection/reconnection processes;
• Perform basic troubleshooting on meter-related issues as needed;
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies when handling meter operations.

The Skills We Are Looking For:

• Previous experience in utility services or a related field is preferred;
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple work orders efficiently;
• Good communication and customer service skills;
• Valid driver's license and the ability to operate company vehicles as needed.

The successful candidate will have to pass a background check which includes criminal background & motor vehicle report checks, as well as drug & alcohol screenings.
