Description:

Gold Strike Tunica Hotel and Casino is seeking a HR Director to serve as a strategic partner to the property's leadership team, driving the development and implementation of HR initiatives that support the achievement of business objectives. This role leads the human resource functions for the property, collaborating with HR Centers of Expertise, managing union relations, and fostering a positive employee relations climate. The HR Director is responsible for translating business needs into actionable people plans, identifying skill gaps, and ensuring HR compliance while continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and incorporating best practices. This position directly supervises the property HR department.



Responsibilities:

  • Partner with management to ensure alignment of Human Resources strategy with property and overall company strategies.
  • Direct the human resource functions for the property, collaborating with HR Centers of Expertise to implement and execute HR programs.
  • Lead all union relation activities at the property.
  • Translate gaming and hospitality-specific business drivers and threats into actionable HR-related plans.
  • Develop and implement an integrated strategic People Plan based on current and future business needs, prioritizing efforts for maximum impact.
  • Identify organizational and critical skill gaps and implement effective solutions.
  • Establish, promote, and maintain a proactive positive employee relations climate, serving as a key point of contact for employee relations matters.
  • Recommend and implement procedures and process improvements to enhance employee engagement, departmental efficiency, service delivery, and risk reduction.
  • Serve as a consultant to the leadership team, providing expert advice, counsel, guidance, and support on all HR-related issues.
  • Oversee, measure, and monitor the effectiveness of the property's staffing function, including determining sourcing strategies and implementing recruiting best practices.
  • Partner across the organization to develop recruiting brand and improve the candidate experience.
  • Monitor HR compliance requirements within the business and work proactively to mitigate human capital risk.
  • Stay informed of current trends in Human Resources practices and management, identifying opportunities for appropriate incorporation into HR and business plans.
  • Supervise and manage the property HR department, with authority over hiring, firing, and performance management decisions.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Eight to ten (8-10) years of progressive Human Resources experience, including a minimum of three (3) years in a leadership role.
  • Strong business acumen and operational understanding of resort casinos
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills with a focus on organizational and team success.
  • Proven strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide expert consultation and build strong, credible relationships with senior leadership, peers, and subordinates.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools, HR enterprise systems, and recruiting technology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Operational experience in a Hospitality, Gaming, or similar setting.
  • Professional certification in a related HR field (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR).
  • Demonstrated Employee and/or Labor Relations experience.
