Job Summary:A Crane Operator operates a crane to lift, position, and place machinery, equipment, or other large objects at construction sites and industrial facilities.Overview of Primary Duties:* Ability to use a surveyor's level to maintain elevation grades on project sites.* Ability to operate and maintain a variety of light and heavy equipment.* Skill in planning and organizing.* Assists in unloading and assembling cranes or other hoisting equipment to be used in construction activities.* Utilizes basic skills as an operator in swinging rig, raising or lowering crane boom, raising and lowering load lines on the crane.* Maneuvers and positions load over designated areas in a smooth, safe manner.* Utilizes load charts to determine the load and radius capabilities of the crane.* Performs daily safety inspection of crane and recognizes possible problem areas such as worn cables, worn bands on hoisting mechanisms, broken gears, housing, etc.* Demonstrate Yates Core Values and Principles* Follow Yates Code of Conduct* Safety Responsibilities and Expectations* Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work by the established Yates Safety Procedures and Work Practices* Report all incidents, near hits, and hazards to management.* Required to wear and maintain personal PPE.* Advise fellow employees of hazardous situations.* Participate in workplace inspections.* Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.* Participate in required and assigned training.* Provide suggestions to improve Safety.* Present a mature approach to working safely.* Attend prestart and Safety meetings and contribute.* Other related duties as needed and assigned by Field Supervision.* This is not an all-inclusive list of tasks an employee may be asked to do.
