Safety Specialist (2nd shift)

Description:

Position Summary:

The Safety Specialist plays a key role in promoting a culture of safety throughout the facility. This role is responsible for supporting compliance with OSHA regulations, corporate safety policies, and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will proactively identify risks, conduct training, lead investigations, and continuously drive safety improvements across the manufacturing site.


Schedule:

2:00pm - 10:00pm Monday through Friday


Key Responsibilities:

· Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety programs and policies

· Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and facility inspections

· Monitor compliance with OSHA and company safety standards

· Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; track corrective actions

· Coordinate and deliver safety-related training and toolbox talks

· Maintain safety records and documentation, including SDS and OSHA logs

· Collaborate with supervisors and employees to foster safe work practices

· Support emergency response planning and drill coordination

· Evaluate PPE use and recommend improvements where needed

· Work cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and HR teams to ensure safety is integrated into daily operations


Qualifications:

· Associate or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field preferred

· 2+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (heavy equipment experience a plus)

· Knowledge of OSHA standards, safety regulations, and incident investigation techniques

· Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

· Ability to analyze data and generate safety performance reports

· Certification such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or ASP/CSP preferred

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems
