The Dedicated Planning Specialist is responsible for driving utilization of our Asset fleet while simultaneously planning our customer freight for on-time service. As the main point of contact, they will work directly with their customer contacts to plan, forecast, track key account metrics, and communicate clearly on the progress of daily/monthly/quarterly initiatives. They will work closely with the customer to ensure service metrics are met. They will monitor service levels, put operational plans in place, and discuss any opportunities for improvement. They will also work with Fleet Management and utilize their planning knowledge to meet the needs of both the customer and the driver fleet. The Dedicated Planning Specialist is also responsible for booking supplemental spot freight as needed, utilizing DAT as well as our existing broker network.
Responsibilities
•Provide customer service excellence by serving existing customer accounts; maintaining daily contact with customers to understand needs and identify future business opportunities, both new and through expansion
•Ensure on time pick-up and delivery of all customer freight
•Demonstrate strong understanding in regard to FMCSA requirements, included but not limited to Hours of Service
•Execute successful implementation of driver, customer, and company goals
•Identify potential issues and utilize critical thinking to determine the best course of action
•Execute strategies to create the most miles for each individual driver in your fleet
•Understand and leverage appropriate software and industry tools to improve margin yield
•Assist in account development and account forecasting
•Meet or exceed required margin and revenue goals
•Maintain a true understanding of the market and spot pricing
•Takes initiative and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
•Minimum of 2+yrs in a Customer Service or Planning related field.
•Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and excellent time management skills while handling large email/call volume
•Driven and competitive-natured, with impressive negotiation skills
•Withstand a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
•Ability to take verbal/written instruction and execute with confidence.
•Team player who can also produce independent results
•Unquestionable integrity
