Job Description

Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking aNetwork Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining and administering our company's computer networks. Your primary duties will include review and analyze the existing network architecture and provide designs of current/modern WAN/MAN/LAN technologies. You will also beRecommend best practices such as SDN, Intent-based networking, and network segmentation protocols, etc., in order to improve the existing architecture and meet new networking requirements.

To be a successful candidate, you will need to have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. You will also need to be able to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers. A deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols is highly desired.

Duties

• Design telecommunications circuit specifications
• Identify the need for routers, switches, and encryption devices to support enterprise services
• Deliver service catalog items for automatically provisioning network configurations to deliver Infrastructure-as -Code
• Develop and maintain network architecture specifications and artifacts
• Designs and plans network communications systems.
• Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.

Qualifications

Required education and experience:

• Information Assurance Certifications consistent with the 8570 IAT Level III
• Minimum 3 years of Cisco experience; proven expertise with Cisco network hardware including: routers, switches, firewalls, unified communications equipment
• Proven experience in VMware environments
• Proven experience in virtual and physical Internet Protocol and Fiber Channel networks and routing protocols
• Proven experience designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN and low bandwidth networks protected by network encryptors
• Proficiency in Automation Tools (e.g., Ansible, Python, or similar)
• Expertise in Software-Defined Networking (SDN)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Familiarity with Agile Methodologies for iterative network project management
• Experience with Change Management Processes to ensure smooth network updates and configurations
• Knowledge of DISN (Department of Defense Information Network) or CANES (Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services) systems
• Proficiency in Visio or Similar Diagramming Tools for network design documentation
