This role supports the operational readiness of essential machinery including bulldozers, road graders, specialized trucks, and other heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency in a shop and field environment.Key Responsibilities:Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems, including A/C, ignition, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical, engine, transmission, and drive train components.Rebuild and maintain attachments and utility systems on equipment such as bulldozers, power shovels, backhoes, and special-purpose trucks.Disassemble and overhaul diesel and gasoline engines; inspect and replace worn or damaged internal components.Perform maintenance on track and drive systems, hoisting units, rollers, sprockets, and related parts.Submit and track parts requisitions through the NCTC N41 Procurement Division; ensure timely ordering and proper inventory of replacement parts.Maintain a 98% inventory accuracy rate for all materials and document usage for accountability.Ensure repairs are performed efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.Required Qualifications:Hands-on experience with light and heavy-duty vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.Strong mechanical aptitude and safety awareness.Basic computer skills for documentation and inventory tracking.Physical Demands:Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.Frequent physical activity including kneeling, crouching, climbing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.Capable of working in strained or awkward positions to access equipment components.Work Environment:Work performed in shop and outdoor environments around operational heavy equipment.Regular exposure to environmental conditions including noise, dust, chemicals, and varying weather.Potential for minor injuries such as cuts, bruises, electric shock, or skin irritation; PPE must be worn as required.Nalu Federal is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and all qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, marital status, sex (including pregnancy), gender identity or expression, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information (family medical history), or any other status protected by federal, state or local laws.
