The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a training instructor. Responsibilities include instructing students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic and/or advanced levels, developing and/or revising lesson plans and training materials for Structures curriculum, monitoring and evaluating student progress and performance, inputting necessary data into Technical Training Management System, and maintaining professional and technical expertise.
Requirements include meeting the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1712, Training Instructor series. This is a CCAF Position. For Community College of the Air Force GS-1712 positions, all faculty members must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. Federal time-in-grade (TIG) requirement for General Schedule (GS) positions: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level.
