Job Purpose: The R&D Scientist designs innovative routes of synthesis for Generic API, draws, prepares, executes, and documents experiments for R&D projects, technical service, and production support.
Responsibilities:
Design innovative routes of synthesis for Generics API.
Apply for patents around innovative and non-infringing processes to produce Generics API.
Draw and plan experiments for R&D projects, technical service, and production support.
Prepare and execute experiments for R&D projects, technical service, and production support.
Analyze and interpret the results, draw conclusions, and write technical reports.
Report results in notebooks and discuss results with the direct manager.
Retrieve chemical literature using the SciFinder database.
Provide scientific and documental support for new product launches supervising the transfer from R&D laboratory to production.
Participate in project teams and functional/x-functional discussions.
Comply fully with responsibilities and authorities on safety and quality.
Key Performance Indicators:
Annual quantity of innovative routes of synthesis developed by the Scientist that allows the industrial manufacturing of a Generic API.
Meet deadlines in tasks and projects.
Proper interpretation of results.
Correctness in the preparation and execution of experiments.
Successful applications for patents.
Requirements:
PhD in Organic Chemistry or Synthetic Chemistry (alternative considered).
Masters Degree (5-years degree) and at least 2 years of experience in the chemical development field.
Fluent English.
Experience:
Preferred (but not essential) 2 years of proven experience in developing non-infringing processes for the production of Generics API, experience acquired in API companies that produce Generics API.
Knowledge of analytical techniques (LC-MS, HPLC, GC, DSC, NMR, XRPD).
Good practical laboratory skills.
