Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting wastewater and drainage studies from feasibility through to detailed design stages.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborative Engineering:
Work closely with engineering teams on wastewater and drainage projects.
Guide projects from the feasibility stage to detailed design completion.
Supervision and Review:
Oversee Graduate Engineers on wastewater network modeling projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
Review and check their work for quality and accuracy.
Technical Leadership:
Set the technical direction for modeling studies and liaise with the lead business team.
Address and resolve technical issues that arise during projects.
Staff Development:
Support and mentor junior modeling staff to enhance their skills and expertise.
Design Collaboration:
Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure the overall integrity of the project design.
Engage with the lead business team and other members to deliver optimal design solutions.
Industry Engagement:
Build a strong professional profile within the industry.
Stay updated with industry innovations and emerging technologies.
Key Skills & Software Knowledge:
Proficiency in InfoWorks ICM SE, InfoWorks CS Modeling Package, and MapInfo.
Experience with InfoWorks ICM 2D, ArcGIS, and InfoNet is desirable.
Candidate Specifications:
Educational Background:
B.E. in Civil Engineering and MS/M.Tech in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering from a recognized university.
Professional Certification:
Must be a Chartered Engineer or actively working towards Chartership.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in model building, verification, and solution development using InfoWorks ICM SE and InfoWorks CS.
Proficient in wastewater network model updates using data from manhole, CCTV, and flow surveys.
Technical Expertise:
Significant experience with MapInfo GIS package.
Knowledge of flood alleviation schemes, integrated ID/2D modeling, SUDS, sewer rehabilitation, InfoNet, and water quality modeling is advantageous.
Experience with resource management, line management, project management of modeling projects, and programming scopes of work is a plus.
Familiarity with international codes, standards, and practices related to the UK water industry.
