Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, this role will contribute to the accounting close process, financial reporting, and technical accounting research, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements while supporting key business operations.

What you will do

In this role, you will manage day-to-day accounting, regular and ad-hoc financial reporting. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Own key areas of the month-end close process, including preparing complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation analyses.
  • Assist in developing guidance on the accounting implications of new transactions and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, performing root-cause analyses to strengthen internal controls and improve accuracy of financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical accounting memos and support drafting of footnotes and schedules for consolidated financial statements.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities, serving as a key point of contact for auditors and managing information flow for selected accounting areas.
  • Drive process improvements by identifying opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows.

What you will bring to SmithRx

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with public accounting or a combination of public and industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of US GAAP, including complex accounting topics.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with a track record of resolving discrepancies.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to quickly learn new accounting systems (e.g., Sage Intacct).
