Taber Extrusions in Gulfport, MS is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for its 3pm to 11pm shift Extrusion Department. The successful candidate with have experience with leading a team to accomplish objectives relating to safety, quality and operational targets. You will serve as the first point of contact to our valuable production team and work together to accomplish your goals. SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase productivity of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Requisitions materials.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Follows safe work procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training. Experience with manufacturing and quality systems and their applications in a production environment, knowledge of customer engineering, quality and delivery requirements, understanding of OSHA and other applicable laws, a proven record of continuous improvement in quality, productivity, safety, and housekeeping, and computer literacy strongly desired.
