About the Agency: Located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Biloxi, the MDMR manages all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economical uses of these resources that are consistent with environmental concerns and social changes. About the Position: This position will serve as part of the Grants Management Bureau team which is responsible for overseeing grant compliance. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing new grant submissions for completeness and consistency with MDMR goals and mission, have the ability to comply with grant requirements and will report financial performance of the grant. The position will work closely with program managers to develop financial aspects of grants for submission and monitor performance throughout the life of the grant. This position requires regular interaction with the office staff and will not be set-up for telework.

What you'll need to be Successful: Extensive knowledge in grants management, possess an understanding of basic accounting principles and concepts, accounts payable and budgeting. Coordinate and oversee various grants and must be able to handle the grant from inception until the grant is closed. This includes grant applications, submissions and amendments, budgeting, expense monitoring and revenue reimbursements. Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical skills to monitor these grants for grant compliance. Have experience working with Federal agencies and be knowledgeable in their requirements. Possess excellent organizational skills and be able to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with MS Office and Excel is necessary to be successful in this position. Must be able to read, comprehend, interpret, and implement Federal and State regulations for grant compliance. Candidate should be a self-starter, be able to work independently and as a team. Advanced written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 2-4 years of experience and/or appropriate certification.
