Description:

Supervisory Firefighter

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the FIRE DIVISION of NAVCONSTRBATCTRGPT. Responsibilities include disposing of bio hazardous medical materials related to an emergency, coordinating vehicle maintenance, safety alerts, and product recalls of tools for a fire station, advising on health and safety aspects of a risk management plan, maintaining proficiency in search and rescue techniques for use in emergencies, repositioning a firefighter vehicle based on conditions to maintain safety of firefighters and equipment, supervising firefighter personnel and providing program management on a daily basis.

Requirements include at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: directly oversee all phases of training, assigning training to journeymen firefighters for on-job experience; perform rescue operations on a daily basis; detection, reduction, or elimination of potential fire hazards; operation of fire communications equipment; controlling hazardous materials incidents and/or developing, implementing, or providing training in fire protection and prevention. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I and II, Fire Officer I and II, III Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, HazMat Awareness, Operations, Technician, and Incident Commander (under NFPA standards adopted by DOD), Driver Operator Pumper, and possess National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached a copy of your transcript or certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
