Description:

Direct the daily care of the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) adult persons at Saint Francis - Bridgeway Apartments Promotes and maintains a healthful living and working environment for person and staff and strives to assure that the optimal achievable quality of care is available to all.

  • Supervises direct care on campus. o Ensures persons/staff ratio including anyone/one or another identified ratio needs. o Ensures environment safety.
  • Ensures health and safety of persons.
  • Conducts Shift Change meetings.
    • o Assures all scheduled appointments are met.
    • o Follows set schedule.
    • o Assures staff follow schedule/assignments.
    • o Coordinates with Wellness Coordinator and clinical staff
  • Monitors and ensures all floor procedures are followed/completed.
    • o Assures staff safe actions toward persons.
    • o Coach staff on:
      • confirmation of when performing duties correctly/well (take staff aside quietly)
      • correct staff actions (Works effectively with the direct care workers and provides corrective feedback immediately)
    • Monitor staff emergency interventions.
  • Encourage a nurturing environment.
    • o Ensure safe/ethical treatment.
    • o Ensure staff appropriate behavior to persons.
    • o Inform auxiliary staff of special circumstances that may affect persons day.
    • o Greet all guests with customer service approach.
  • Oversees documentation of each person's daily program events.
  • Assures all staff on shift have completed documentation.
  • Participate in PSS meetings and responsible for the development of the IDD Activity Support Plans of each person receiving services.
  • Plays an integral part in the multi-disciplinary treatment team of Saint Francis Ministries
  • Oversee scheduling of appropriate staff and vehicles to get persons to their appropriate travel destination(s)
  • Oversee staff responsible for persons to get to their scheduled employment on time.
  • Active member/participant of the Performance Improvement process and meetings
  • Conducts employee performance Reviews.
  • May conduct Community or person's meetings.
  • May conduct Grievance process.
  • Provide emergency transportation as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mental Health or Intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) or a related field and either a professional license of DMH credential as Mental Health Therapist or (IDD) therapist
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Three years of experience in human/mental health services field and at least two years of experience working with IDD adult population.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a drug screen, MVR, MS State Background Check and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance Check; pass a physical examination & TB Skin Test
  • Lifting Requirements of 50 lbs.
  • Valid Mississippi Driver's License and Clear Driving Record
