Overview

OmniOn Power is currently hiring a Product Manager Front End Power for Data Centers, Telecom and Industrial sectors. This is an individual contributor role responsible for high power (kW range) single and three phase rectifiers and DC/DC Converter portfolio including orders, design wins, revenue, and margin for Data Centers (AI/ML, Super Compute, High Performance Compute), Telecom and Industrial sectors. You will develop and implement a product roadmap including standard and custom product developments.

In this role you will lead, integrate and develop cross-functional relationships and processes that meet business needs across the product line, be involved in long-term planning and strategy, manage complex issues in the development of new products and sustain existing products, and contribute to the overall business results. This role is based in Plano, TX and reports to the Senior Director R&D, Front End Power.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage products & product portfolio performance, gather and evaluate the voice of customer, competitive landscape, and other market information to make decisions on product positioning, pricing, promotion, sales channel, and product life cycle
  • Visit and collaborate with customers, sales team, segment leaders, and other product managers to support growth accounts and initiatives
  • Establish the product strategy to align with business goals and create the roadmap; review product recommendations, business cases, requests, and go-to-market execution plans
  • Provide commercial context for the product strategy by reconciling customer, sales, and internal feedback
  • Develop and review business cases; obtain approval and escalate as needed
  • Present high-risk projects to Management and Project Management for discussion and approval prior to quotation
  • Communicate critical business opportunities, achievements or losses and their impact to leadership
  • Track and report performance against specific business metrics
  • Establish and control margin trends through pricing, cost reviews, new product launches and volume planning
  • Coordinate external marketing and internal training content to communicate the value proposition of new products and competitive strategies
  • Collaborate with R&D in defining, reviewing, approving and escalating critical RFQs

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 10+ years of product management or technical experience in Data Centers, Telecom and Industrial sectors
  • Five years of product management experience with Single Phase and Three Phase Front End Power Product Family such as AC to DC rectifiers (open frame and vertically integrated solutions)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to build effective processes
  • Familiarity with the NPI process
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in Power Electronics, Power Conversion and/or AI/Super Compute/High Performance Compute/Edge Compute Data Centers, Telecom and Industrial applications; ability to discuss power design choices with design and test teams
  • Experience translating multiple customer KPIs into a consolidated product roadmap
  • Understanding of safety and compliance rules affecting power electronics
  • Knowledge of standards affecting the Power Electronics industry (IEC/EN, UL, ANSI, GR specs, SEMI, IPC, ISO)
  • Fundamental understanding of communications protocols (PMBus, CANbus, Modbus, PoE, etc.)
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization
  • Results oriented with ability to deliver on commitments
