As we continue to grow, we are looking for a talented Backend Engineer to build and maintain the infrastructure that powers our AI-driven solutions.

Position Overview:
The Backend Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining the server-side logic, database management, and APIs that form the backbone of our AI therapist platform. You will work closely with frontend developers, AI/ML engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our platform is scalable, secure, and performs well under various conditions. This role requires a deep understanding of backend technologies and a passion for creating robust systems that support innovative mental health solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• API Development: Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs that enable seamless communication between the frontend and backend systems, as well as with third-party services.
• Database Management: Develop and manage scalable, efficient databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and optimal performance. Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases is essential.
• Server-Side Logic: Implement and optimize server-side logic that powers the AI therapist platform, including user authentication, data processing, and business logic.
• Scalability & Performance: Ensure the platform is scalable and performs efficiently, even as the user base grows. Implement caching strategies, load balancing, and other performance optimization techniques.
• Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices to protect user data, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations such as HIPAA and GDPR.
• Integration with AI Models: Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to integrate machine learning models into the backend infrastructure, ensuring they can be deployed and accessed effectively.
• Continuous Deployment: Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable deployment of new features and updates.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring tools to track system performance and quickly diagnose and resolve any issues that arise.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of backend architecture, APIs, and processes to ensure transparency and facilitate future development.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on building scalable, high-performance systems. Experience in the healthcare or mental health space is a plus.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, or Go. Experience with frameworks like Django, Flask, or Express is beneficial.
• Database Skills: Strong experience with both relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• API Development: Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs. Experience with GraphQL is a plus.
• Security Knowledge: Understanding of security best practices, including encryption, authentication, and secure coding principles.
• Collaboration: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop creative, efficient solutions to complex backend challenges.
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications are a plus.
