TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Trustees
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the site principal and/or his/her designee in accordance with provisions of the Board and the MDE.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Endorsement in counseling, social work or a related field
- Experience working with families
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Presentation skills to address various audiences
- Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field preferred

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Such duties and responsibilities that may be assigned, including but not limited to:
- Provides support to students to address the barriers that prevent him/her from being successful in school
- Makes home visits as necessary to address barriers
- Assists with dropout prevention
- Connects students with school and community services to address barriers
- Organizes activities designed to help parents improve their child's success
- Works closely with PTA and PTA Council
- Provides information to help students academically and socially
- Demonstrates initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities
- Responds to inquiries in a timely manner
- Works cooperatively with teachers, other counselors, and administrators toward attaining the objectives of the school district
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
- Supports the Hancock County School District Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan
- Performs other duties as assigned
