Job Description:
Evaluates patients and develops patient-specific physical therapy treatment program. Monitors, reassesses and modifies treatment program to meet patient needs in an ongoing manner. Coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (physical therapist assistants, rehab aides, students, etc). Performs treatments demonstrating awareness of growth and development for each population group. Applies knowledge of population specific needs when assessing/caring for newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients according to psychosocial and developmental needs.
Education: Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree from an accredited program.
License: Current Mississippi licensure is required. BLS required (or within 30 days of hire date)
Experience: Preferred Experience: 1 year clinical experience in a hospital setting
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Theory, techniques, and equipment for professional physical therapy
• Human anatomy, pathology, kinesiology and physiology related to physical therapy treatment
• Principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical dysfunctions
• Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients
• Using computers and Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
• Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively through oral and written expression
