Job Overview

Senior Actuary Specialty Finance Reserving, located remotely with Nationwide in the lower 48 U.S. states. This role focuses on setting reserves for complex specialty finance products such as Mortgage Reinsurance, Lease Enhancement, Residual Value, and Contract and Credit Wrap insurance. The position offers an opportunity to build and shape the future of the company's specialty finance reserving function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and oversight of multiple actuarial work plans, delivering accurate and timely reserve sets.
• Act as a technical expert on actuarial methodologies, selecting appropriate data sources and making assumptions that drive strategic vision for Nationwide.
• Conduct complex analyses adhering to actuarial standards, resolving unreasonable results using professional judgment.
• Document assumptions, methods, and sources in an organized fashion and create cohesive presentations for technical and non?technical audiences at the OCFO leadership level.
• Strategic leader of peer review processes, driving cross?functional collaboration and implementing quality improvements.
• Develop training materials to address skill gaps and support future business needs.
• Advise on new product development opportunities, evaluating data needs, coding implications, and viability of proposals.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science or similar background.
• Actuarial designation required, generally as an FCAS.
• Eight or more years of actuarial experience with extensive knowledge of actuarial business functions, statistical methods, and predictive modeling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, analytical software, and programming languages with a strategic agility mindset.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a customer?facing focus.

Salary & Remote

Salary range: $134,000.00$259,000.00. Remote fully remote full?time senior position with Nationwides lower 48 U.S. states coverage.
