The base pay range for this position is:
$147,740 - $203,137
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.

As Head of Hybrid Cloud Virtualization Services you will lead and grow a team of virtualization engineers, define and execute virtualization strategies aligned with Siemens Healthineers goals, and drive product development and operational excellence for hybrid cloud and on-premises virtualization platforms. You will manage budgets and vendor relationships, ensure IT compliance and robust documentation (architectures, SOPs, system designs), and collaborate closely with architects, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to deliver seamless deployments from development to production.
This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Head of Hybrid Cloud Virtualization Services, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing a team of engineers: You will be responsible for hiring, training, and managing a team of virtualization professionals. This includes setting goals and objectives, providing feedback, coaching, and developing team members, and managing their performance.
- Developing Virtualization strategies: You will be responsible for developing Virtualization strategies that align with the Siemens Healthineers goals and objectives. This includes analyzing current systems, identifying gaps, and designing solutions that optimize the existing processes.
- Product development: You will be responsible for managing the product development activities including designing, architecting, and developing virtualization services to support the needs of the Siemens Healthineers applications. This may involve analyzing business requirements and designing the related services/products accordingly.
- Managing Virtualization budgets: You will be responsible for managing virtualization budgets, ensuring that costs are optimized and within budget constraints. This includes monitoring virtualization-related expenses, identifying areas for cost savings, and managing vendor contracts.
- Ensuring compliance: You will be responsible for ensuring that the Hybrid cloud Virtualization related services are compliant with Siemens Healthineers IT compliance system.
- Managing Operations: You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Hybrid cloud Virtualization team, which may include responding to incidents, and implementing change requests.
- Documentation: You will be responsible to ensure product documentation such as architectures, SOPs, system design, SOPs are developed and maintained.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with other architects, DevOps engineers, and infrastructure teams to ensure a seamless deployment of all Hybrid cloud solutions from development to production.
- Staying current with emerging technologies: You will be responsible for staying current with emerging technologies related to virtualization platform. This includes researching and evaluating new solutions, attending conferences and industry events, and networking with other professionals in the field.
- You have a proven track record in designing and building virtualization solutions in both on-premises and cloud
- You are expert at requirement engineering, translating business language into technical solutions
- You know how to work in an agile environment, and you can scope and define your and your team's work to provide transparency into progress and outcomes
- You can interact with customers and other stakeholders on eye-level, establishing a trustful relationship, managing timelines and commitments e2e
- You are a technical leader and a people manager leading a team of 8-10 technical experts
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Overall 15+ years' experience in IT and recent 10 years in Virtualization platform.
- Knowledge of Virtualization Platforms: Deep understanding of various Virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, vCloud Director, NSX-T, VMware Cloud Foundation, Microsoft Hyper-V, Azure Local(Azure Stack HCI), Azure VMWare Solution, RedHat OpenShift, Proxmox
- Experience managing and leading technical teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with ITIL and IT service management principles.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as Azure or Google Cloud is a plus.
