Position Summary

The Retail Operations District Leader is essential in driving and enhancing operations across multiple convenience store locations, focusing primarily on food service performance and excellence. This role is centered on achieving operational effectiveness, fostering revenue growth, ensuring food safety and regulatory compliance, and empowering Store Managers to meet financial and performance objectives. As a cultural ambassador, the District Leader promotes core values while exemplifying effective leadership practices across all stores.

This is a full-time, exempt position requiring approximately 50 hours per week and is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of several store locations with a key emphasis on growth, quality, and food service execution.
  • Guide, mentor, and develop Store Managers to successfully meet operational, financial, and customer experience targets.
  • Track and assess KPIs, including customer satisfaction, safety, labor, and cost control metrics.
  • Perform weekly store visits to ensure adherence to operational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement promotional, merchandising, and operational initiatives consistently across all sites.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, onboard, train, and develop exceptionally high-performing teams.
  • Address and solve operational or personnel challenges swiftly and professionally.
  • Analyze financial and operational data at the store level to identify trends and execute corrective actions.
  • Cultivate a high-performance culture centered on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including ADA and OSHA standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of food safety, labor management, and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Data-oriented mindset with a proven track record of using metrics to make informed decisions and enhancements.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or retail operations software.
  • Valid driver's license with a willingness to travel extensively within the assigned regions.

Required Experience and Education

  • A minimum of 3 years of multi-unit leadership experience in convenience retail, food service, or QSR environments is strongly preferred.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • An Associate's degree or higher in Business Administration or a related field is strongly preferred.

Work Environment

  • This is a field-based role with frequent travel among store locations.
  • The work will be conducted in office, retail, and food service environments.
  • Exposure to kitchen operations, coolers/freezers, and outdoor conditions may occur.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain stationary for long durations.
  • Frequent travel between various store locations (up to 80% of work time).
  • Occasional climbing of stairs, ladders, or stockroom platforms.
  • Ability to navigate through store and kitchen environments effectively.
  • Capacity to lift and carry up to 25 pounds periodically.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, handling, hearing, and carrying activities.

Quick Summary of the Position:

  • Base Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 annually
  • Quarterly Bonus: $2,500 - $3,000
