Description:

Schedule/Hours: Seasonal - Full-time - Monday-Friday - 7.5 hours daily (schedules vary from 6am-6pm daily)

This position is responsible for:

Leads children's activities at the RJKCCC day camp including arts and crafts activities, sports activities and specialized programs; prepares and serves children lunch and snacks; assists in leading field trips; maintains the cleanliness of the day camp area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.
  • Develops and implements crafts and sporting activities which are age-group program specific; utilizes age-group appropriate discovery areas, enriched with program-specific activities, including teacher-made materials and hands-on activities.
  • Maintains the camp materials in an orderly fashion; maintains accountability for any laundry, money and supplies necessary for camp programs.
  • Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and required reports (attendance, development progress, discipline reports, etc.).
  • Assists in leading children on field trips.
  • Ensures the accountability, security and safety of children participating in camp activities and field trips; reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language,
  • Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.
  • Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
  • Work is performed in a normal camp environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required, AND
  • two years experience teaching child development programs, OR
  • any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.


Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid state driver's license
  • C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
  • Form 121 (immunization record)
  • Valid Driver's License and eligible driver status under TSA Driver Program
