Pesticide Application Specialist FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Pesticide Application Specialist plays a vital role in overseeing pesticide application operations and ensuring effective management of related tasks. In this position, you will maintain constant communication with the Owner, Operations Manager, or Production Manager, providing updates on operations, training, and planning. There may also be opportunities to supervise crew members and efficiently manage equipment and materials.

Main Responsibilities

  • Client Management
    • Represent the company with professionalism and integrity at all times.
    • Respond promptly and effectively to client needs to ensure satisfaction with services provided.
    • Communicate clearly with clients about products used and the operations conducted.
    • Notify management of any client concerns that arise on-site.
    • Conduct site inspections to advise clients of potential liabilities and provide necessary information regarding applications that may affect their business operations.
  • Safety Management
    • Promote and maintain a consistently safe working environment.
    • Ensure compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements as mandated by safety regulations.
    • Strive for zero preventable accidents by adhering to established safety protocols.
    • Participate in weekly safety meetings and help educate crew members on safety practices.
    • Securely store all products in compliance with local, state, federal, and OSHA regulations.
  • Brand Compliance
    • Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the service vehicle and equipment.
  • Equipment Management
    • Safely operate pressurized spray equipment and any essential field equipment.
    • Maintain all assigned equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with maintenance schedules.
    • Keep equipment secure, clean, and in optimal working condition.
  • Quality Control
    • Utilize the Quality Control Inspection Form to report on-site conditions accurately.
    • Ensure all jobs meet specifications and retain client satisfaction for the potential renewal of contracts.
    • Administer treatments that enhance or protect the quality of turf and plant material.
  • Field Operations
    • Administer a variety of products (fertilizers, herbicides, etc.) according to company guidelines and industry best practices.
    • Set up and operate spray equipment efficiently for effective treatment application.
  • Office and Administration
    • Accurately read, interpret, and follow written and verbal instructions.
    • Organize work schedules in an efficient manner.
    • Complete all necessary documentation and reports related to safety, quality control, and equipment maintenance.

    This role requires keeping up with industry standards and regulations, including proper pesticide handling and safety precautions. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential. The ideal candidate should be self-reliant and capable of working independently when necessary.

    Typical Qualifications

    Successful candidates will demonstrate effective communication skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the physical ability to perform job duties, which may include lifting up to 60 pounds and working in various weather conditions.
