Position Summary

The Retail District Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in leading the operational success of 5-7 convenience store locations, focusing on food service performance and execution. This position emphasizes operational excellence, revenue growth, food safety, and regulatory compliance while supporting Store Managers in reaching their financial and performance objectives. The District Manager is a key advocate for company culture, exemplifying core values and effective leadership practices throughout all stores.

This is a full-time, exempt position requiring an average commitment of 50 hours per week, and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across multiple store locations with a strong emphasis on enhancing food service quality and growth.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Store Managers to meet operational, financial, and customer service goals.
  • Monitor KPIs including customer feedback, safety, labor, and cost control metrics to drive performance.
  • Conduct weekly store visits to ensure adherence to operational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement promotional, merchandising, and operational initiatives consistently across all locations.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of high-performing teams.
  • Proactively address and resolve operational or personnel issues in a professional manner.
  • Analyze financial and operational data at the store level to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Promote a high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including ADA and OSHA requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of food safety, labor management, and operational efficiency.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in dynamic environments.
  • Data-driven mindset with a solid track record of using metrics to guide decisions and improvements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or retail operations platforms.
  • A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel extensively within the designated territory.

Required Experience and Education

  • A minimum of 3 years in multi-unit leadership roles; experience in convenience retail, food service, or QSR is strongly preferred.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree or higher in Business Administration or a related field is strongly preferred.

Work Environment

  • This role is field-based, requiring frequent travel between store locations.
  • Work is performed in office, retail, and food service environments.
  • Exposure to kitchen operations, including equipment such as coolers/freezers, and occasional outdoor conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Frequent travel between store locations (up to 80% of work time).
  • Occasional climbing of stairs, ladders, or stockroom platforms.
  • Ability to navigate through store and kitchen environments.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, handling, hearing, and carrying are expected.

Compensation Overview:

  • Base Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 annually.
  • Quarterly Bonus: $2,500 - $3,000.
  • Company vehicle provided.

  • Company cell phone or reimbursement provided.
