Hourly Salary: $16.17

This is a part-time minus position with a schedule of less than 20 hours in a standard workweek.

Position Overview

The Receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate department or individual. As the first point of contact for the organization, this role requires a positive attitude and a polished, professional appearance.

Essential Job Functions

Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

• Welcomes visitors and customers by greeting them in person or via telephone and answering or directing inquiries appropriately.

• Directs visitors and customers by maintaining employee and department directories and providing accurate instructions.

• Answers and manages multi-line telephone systems.

• Sorts, delivers, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.

• Maintains a neat and orderly reception area, including updating magazines, clearing clutter, and supporting a professional and welcoming office environment.

• Assists with special projects as needed.

Must posses required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with the public, employees, and vendors.

• Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.

• Possesses computer literacy, including basic keyboarding skills.

Education and Experience

Possesses a high school diploma or GED and one to two years of experience in a customer service role, and demonstrates basic office skills.

Licenses or Certificates

Must possess a Mississippi Driver's license.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 10 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
