Job Title: Bus Driver (Full-Time with Additional Duties)

Position Summary:

The Bay-Waveland School District is seeking a full-time Bus Driver to join our transportation team. In addition to providing safe and reliable student transportation, this position includes supplemental responsibilities during the school day, such as general support tasks as assigned by the Transportation Director and building principal. This is a key support position that helps ensure smooth school operations beyond the bus route.

Primary Responsibilities:

Transportation Duties:

• Safely operate a school bus along assigned routes and schedules.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain order and ensure student safety during transport.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly.
• Comply with all traffic laws, district policies, and state transportation regulations.
• Keep the bus clean and fueled, and report maintenance needs.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal or transportation director.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL preferred. Must obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Must pass a background check
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a school setting.
