The Patient Care Manager (PCM) facilitates teamwork and unit pride by advocating for an environment that promotes high patient care standards and implements strategies to ensure patient and physician satisfaction. The Patient Care Manager is a registered professional nurse responsible for 24 hour leadership of specific nursing unit(s) within the Department of Nursing. He/ She works in a cooperative and consultative relationship with the Nurse Management Team and other disciplines under the direction of the Department Director. The PCM assumes authority, accountability and leadership/management responsibility for the specific unit(s) as assigned. In addition to Patient Care Manager (PCM) duties, he/she may be assigned to work house supervisor shifts as needed.
