You'll be embedded at a healthcare facility in Jackson, MS, serving as the go-to biomedical technician for complex clinical equipment. You'll work with minimal supervision, handling everything from performance assurance inspections and calibrations to full repairs and installations. You'll also serve as a technical advisor to clinical and medical staff, helping them operate equipment safely and effectively. This is not a bench role; you'll be face-to-face with nurses, doctors, and department heads daily.
• Perform PA inspections, scheduled maintenance, ESIs, and OVPs on complex biomedical equipment
• Repair, install, and calibrate intricate clinical devices across multiple departments
• Maintain and ensure accuracy of the equipment database, including inventory, PA schedules, nomenclature, and service history
• Coordinate and document subcontractor and vendor service activities
• Build strong relationships with clinical staff and serve as their trusted technical resource
• Conduct incoming inspections for new, rental, loaner, and trial equipment
• Ensure full compliance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) and all regulatory requirements
• Assist in developing specifications for new clinical equipment purchases
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment
• 2-year degree in a technical or electronics field (or equivalent experience; waived for candidates with completed biomedical certification programs)
• Strong computer skills, including system administration, error code interpretation, and hardware troubleshooting
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Valid driver's license (some travel may be required)
• CBET certification (strongly preferred)
• Experience with complex imaging, surgical, or patient monitoring equipment
• Familiarity with CMMS/equipment management databases
