Security Officer

Provides security for patients, visitors, and staff; protects hospital buildings, assets, and premises against theft and vandalism.

Required Qualifications:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent (GED).

Licensure: Must complete a certification course with the International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) within twelve months of hire date. Must have and maintain a valid MS driver's license, and must be able to be covered on Memorial Hospital vehicle operators' insurance.

Experience:

None.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: None.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: None.

Licensure: None.

Experience: Two years previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military experience. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Proficient working knowledge of the civil/criminal law, and a proficient working knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
