  • Verify compliance of WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications with governing codes and project requirements; support qualification activities as needed.
  • Perform visual inspection of joint fit-up, root and final welds, materials, preheat/interpass, and weld sizes/profiles; document acceptance or nonconformance in line with project criteria.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, piping isometrics, and general arrangement drawings to identify welds, joints, and inspection hold points.
  • Develop and maintain weld maps, joint tracking logs, welder traceability, and inspection records to support turnover and QA documentation.
  • Redline drawings and isometric sketches to document field changes, reroutes, and as-built conditions related to welds, supports, and routing.
  • Coordinate inspection activities with field supervision and project management to support schedule milestones and minimize rework.
  • Prepare clear, accurate inspection reports, nonconformance reports (NCRs), punch lists, and follow up on corrective actions through closure.
  • Review and approve inspection reports, weld logs, NCRs, and other welding-related QA/QC documentation prepared by CWIs and Level II/Level I inspectors.
  • Plan and conduct regular audits of welding inspection activities, documentation, and field practices performed by CWIs and Level II/Level I inspectors; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Support development and implementation of inspection and test plans (ITPs) and project-specific quality procedures.
  • Interface with the owner, third-party inspectors, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) during audits, walkdowns, and inspections.
  • Attend and lead quality-related meetings with the client, corporate quality representatives, and key vendors to review progress, issues, and improvement actions.
  • Represent the project QA/QC function in coordination meetings, pre inspection meetings, and vendor/fabricator quality discussions as required.
  • Promote and enforce site safety expectations while performing inspections; stop work when safety or quality requirements are not met.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other inspectors and craft personnel on code requirements, weld quality, and best practices.

Minimum Education and Credentials
