Lead and manage all site EHS programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations, including process safety management (PSM) for chemical operations.
Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses (e.g., HAZOP, JSA), and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Oversee incident investigation processes, root cause analysis, and reporting; ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
Manage environmental compliance programs, including air emissions, wastewater, hazardous waste, and chemical storage.
Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and contractors.
Lead emergency response planning, drills, and coordination with local emergency services.
Monitor safety performance metrics, conduct audits and inspections, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and lead site inspections and audits.
Support capital projects and operational changes through Management of Change (MOC) processes.
Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership engagement and employee involvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
7+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (chemical manufacturing experience preferred but not required).
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry safety standards; familiarity with EPA regulations and process safety management (PSM) is a plus.
Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) preferred.
Demonstrated experience with incident investigation, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and drive cultural change.
