A company is looking for an Authorization Specialist - Remote.Key ResponsibilitiesObtain and track authorizations/re-authorizations for patients according to insurance policiesInitiate Peer to Peers with payers and collaborate with providers to secure letters of Medical NecessityMonitor authorization work queue and troubleshoot authorization denialsRequired QualificationsAssociate degree preferredCertification in CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or specialty coding preferredSurgical Authorization experience required, with Ortho and Vascular experience highly preferredThree or more years of experience in a healthcare environment, preferably with prior authorization experienceStrong understanding of HIPAA laws, managed care, and third-party payer requirements
