Chief Engineer (Hotel Maintenance)

Hampton Inn Gulfport is seeking a skilled and reliable Chief Engineer to oversee all hotel maintenance and engineering operations. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining the property's mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety systems, as well as standard hotel laundry equipment. This position does not supervise a team it is the primary engineering role for the hotel and is essential to ensuring a safe, well-maintained, guest-ready environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on hotel systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-life safety).
  • Complete preventive maintenance (PM) on guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Maintain and repair standard hotel laundry equipment (washers, dryers).
  • Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
  • Conduct regular property inspections and address issues proactively.
  • Maintain accurate logs, PM schedules, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs.
  • Support hotel opening tasks, punch lists, and system commissioning.
  • Ensure all work meets Hilton brand standards and safety regulations.

What We're Looking For:

  • 35 years of hotel or building maintenance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily priorities.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred (Not Required): HVAC certification CPO, CCE, or CME certifications Experience with Hilton or other major hotel brands.
