The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame (MSHOF) seeks an intern to assist our staff during daily operations including the events and activities happening during the June and July months at the Museum. Our largest annual fundraising events take place during the summer as well as increased museum visitation. This internship will provide valuable experience for anyone interested in event coordination, fundraising, marketing, museum studies, public relations, sports management, and similar industries.

Intern Job Responsibilities:

•Understand the daily museum operations including ticketing, check in, and leading group tours

•Be able to answer the office phone, respond to rental and group inquiries, or redirect calls

•Assist Race Director in preparations for the Watermelon Classic 5k

•Assist in the collection and organization of silent auction items and learning OneCause mobile bidding software for fundraising event

Work Hours & Benefits

The MSHOF staff currently consists of five full-time employees. The Summer Intern will assist each member of the staff with a variety of tasks based on needs and deadlines. The intern is expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week (Monday through Friday) with increased hours the last week of June and the last week of July. Scheduling will be flexible based on intern's availability as well as Museum needs. Must be able to work on Saturday, July 4th for the Watermelon Classic 5k and work outside of normal business hours on July 31st and August 1st for Hall of Fame Induction Banquet. Moderate Saturday availability is not required but preferred.

This internship is an hourly-paid opportunity and may be used for graduation requirements where applicable.
