Quality Manager

Description:

Provide strategic and tactical leadership in the development and implementation of world class quality policies, programs, and procedures in support of overall operational goals and strategic objectives.

This role will be onsite in Iuka, MS with travels between additional site in Ripley, MS.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Assure compliance to company and industry standards for manufacturing procedures and processes.
  • Drive cultural change focused on "building quality in" vs. an inspection-oriented approach.
  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Drive a strong quality message through outstanding performance and investigate, determine root cause, initiate permanent corrective action, and document customer issues and complaints as they arise.
  • Develop and mentor staff and provide strong developmental support.
  • Initiate the use of world class quality tools, systems, and procedures within the Quality organization to support the overall operational goals.
  • Develop and implement cost control/savings initiatives related to scrap reduction, process improvements and customer issues.
  • Establish and direct an overall vision and direction for the daily operations of the quality function, including auditors, analysts, metrology technicians, and all associated testing procedures and record maintenance.
  • Assess and implement the appropriate data analysis, quality systems, and inspection criteria and procedures to ensure the high technical integrity of our quality processes and results.
  • Review and analyze product and material specifications to determine appropriate standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
  • Interact with the supply chain group and vendors to ensure the quality of all purchased parts and materials.
  • Develop, implement and support quality and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Interact with Customer Experience to link RMA data to internal plant quality.

  • Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in technical, manufacturing, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years experience in a manufacturing quality leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and world class quality management tools and applications - LEAN Six Sigma, Green or Black Belt Certification or Marmon Blue Belt would be a plus.
  • Certification in Quality Management (e.g., CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated successful application of proactive quality tools including APQP, FMEA, capability analysis, and statistical methods.
  • Knowledge and functional experience in an ISO Quality Management Systems environment.
  • Outstanding PC/Systems knowledge and skills.
  • Strong leadership, communications and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of employees, customers and outside professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience as change agent in driving a cultural shift from inspection-based systems to more proactive, process focused environment.
