Administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, Gulfport Job Corps Center is a part of the nation's largest career technical training and education program.This schedule for this position will include working evenings, weekends, and holidays.ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Duties:* Prepare vegetables by washing, peeling, coring, grinding, shredding, or chopping, for use in entrees.* Prepare meats for cooking by washing, trimming, boning, cutting, cubing, or forming into patties or loaves.* Cook or bake items, which require minimum preparation.* Help cook and serve meals, ensuring that prepared foods are held and served at proper temperatures, and all left over foods are properly chilled and stored.* Keep food service area, tables, floors, and equipment clean and sanitary.* Prepare desserts as needed.* Assist with the appropriate storage of dry goods and freezer items.* Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices and OSHA standards.* Helps supervise work-based learning program to include the development of student's employability, social skills and Career Success Standards while in the Food Service area.Job RequirementsMandatory:* High school diploma or equivalent.* Training in food preparation and 1-year experience.* Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's certificate within 30 days of employment.* Successfully pass any background check and/drug test required on the contract.* Ability to obtain & maintain valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.DisclosuresChugach Government Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
