Plan, write, design, and produce music and routines for all halftime and pre-game performances. Oversee all aspects of halftime show development, coordination, and execution. Ensure timely procurement of music and all related materials. Direct and manage all aspects of the Band of Gold program and auxiliary groups (including, but not limited to jazz band, pep band, concert band, winter guard, color guard, rifles, and marching band) as assigned. Demonstrate proactive collaboration with other auxiliary groups and related programsincluding choral ensembles, pianists, Dance Team, Cheer, and athleticsby supporting joint events and initiatives, fostering alignment, mutual support, and a unified student experience. Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, responsibilities, and program needs, adapting to changing priorities, events, and institutional demands to support the success of the band program and related activities. Supervise Assistant Band Directors, including conducting performance evaluations. Be present and actively engaged in all Band of Goldrelated events, including full ensemble, small ensemble, and music major activities, to provide supervision, leadership, and support for student success and program operations. Provide leadership, supervision, and support for student success during all program-related activities. Foster strong public relations and positively represent the college within the community through active engagement, outreach, and participation in institutional and community events. Organize and oversee all aspects of the Band of Gold (BOG) program, including student advisement, auditions, band camp, scholarships, inventory, budgets, performance planning, and student recordswhile ensuring accurate and comprehensive maintenance of all related files and documentation. Lead recruitment and retention efforts to support consistent enrollment from Fall to Spring semesters. Promote the band program through performances at parades, festivals, college and community events, and high school tours. Administer the band scholarship process, including timely submission of required documentation. Manage program budgets and student club accounts, including fundraising activities, ensuring strategic, cost-effective decisions and financial stability. Maintain comprehensive and accurate records related to students, scholarships, inventory, budgets, and program operations. Conduct and maintain full inventory of equipment and materials, including required semester inventory reporting. Supervise and maintain facilities, including the band hall, practice field, practice facilities, instruments, vehicles, and equipment. Actively lead and promote a positive, motivating, and student-centered culture within the band program, ensuring a supportive environment for both students and staff that encourages growth, accountability, and collaboration. Model professionalism and set clear expectations that support student growth and program success. Carry primary instructional responsibility for the Band of Gold program, including rehearsal planning and execution, scholarship processing, and attendance reporting. Coordinate and deliver performance-based learning experiences for the band. Teach assigned courses across modalities (day, evening, online, and in-person), ensuring full instructional time and adherence to curriculum standards as assigned by the Dean of Teaching and Learning. Maintain required office hours, advise students, and refer students to appropriate support services as needed. Collaborate with School Chair(s) on strategic initiatives, curriculum development, student learning outcomes, and updates to syllabi. Engage in ongoing pedagogical development and continuous improvement of teaching practices. Participate in college service, including meetings, committee work, required professional development, and faculty responsibilities. Stay informed of institutional learning resources and recommend improvements and innovative opportunities to appropriate leadership. Coordinate student use of Learning Resource Center services as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the assigned Chair, Dean of Teaching and Learning, or Campus Vice President.
