Environmental Professional (EP) – Phase I ESA Consultant

Location: Ridgeland, MS (Remote report preparation with possible field/site visits)

From HM:

On-Call / Project-Based

  • Potential may be required depending on project location
  • direct Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) experience to support potential
  • environmental due diligence and commercial property assessment projects associated with
  • banking, commercial, municipal, and industrial properties.
  • This position is project-based and on-call based on client and project needs.

Position Overview

  • The selected individual will support or lead ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site
  • Assessments (Phase I ESA) for commercial and industrial properties. The role may include site
  • inspections, historical and regulatory research, records review, environmental risk evaluation, and preparation of technical environmental reports.

Potential Responsibilities

  • Conduct or support ASTM E1527-21 compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
  • Perform environmental site inspections and field observations
  • Review historical property records, aerials, Sanborn maps, and regulatory databases
  • Identify Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs)
  • Evaluate environmental concerns involving:
  • Underground Storage Tanks (USTs)
  • Aboveground Storage Tanks (ASTs)
  • Asbestos-containing materials (ACM)
  • Lead-based paint (LBP)
  • Mold/moisture concerns
  • Wetlands and environmental compliance issues
  • Coordinate interviews and site information gathering
  • Prepare technical Phase I ESA reports and supporting documentation
  • Support client communication and project coordination

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience conducting or preparing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA)
  • Familiarity with ASTM E1527-21 and All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) requirements
  • Environmental Professional (EP) qualifications preferred
  • Environmental science, geology, engineering, industrial hygiene, or related background preferred
  • Experience with environmental due diligence, site investigations, or environmental assessment work preferred
  • Strong technical writing and report preparation skills bility to conduct site visits and environmental field observations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Phase I ESA experience
  • Knowledge of environmental regulatory databases and historical research tools
  • Experience with Phase II ESA recommendations or environmental sampling support
  • Professional Geologist (PG), Professional Engineer (PE), CHMM, or related credentials
