Scope of Projec

tThe Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is seeking a highly skilled Contract .NET / Power BI Developer to support application development, business intelligence, reporting, and modernization efforts across the agency. This role is ideal for a developer who can build reliable applications, create meaningful dashboards, work with SQL-based data, and translate business needs into practical, technical solutions. The selected candidate will work closely with MDWFP leadership, MIS staff, and business bureaus to improve agency reporting, strengthen data visibility, enhance existing systems, and deliver solutions that help teams make faster, better-informed decisions

Responsibilitie

s:• Design, develop, enhance, and support applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, and related Microsoft technologie

s.• Build, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, semantic models, and visualizations for operational and executive reportin

g.• Create data models, measures, and calculations using DAX and Power Query to support accurate reporting and decision-makin

g.• Develop and support web forms, APIs, integrations, and internal business application

s.• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, views, tables, and other database object

s.• Assist with ETL, data transformation, data cleanup, and reporting automation effort

s.• Support application deployment, web server configuration, and ongoing application maintenanc

e.• Gather requirements from stakeholders and convert business needs into clear, reliable technical solution

s.• Troubleshoot application, reporting, database, and data quality issue

s.• Modernize legacy reports, workflows, and applications where appropriat

e.• Document system changes, report logic, data sources, technical processes, and support procedure

s.• Provide technical support, guidance, and mentoring to lower-tier developers and support staf
