Job Details

We are seeking experienced Marine Pipe Welders to join our shipyard team. The ideal candidate will have experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, copper nickel, and other pipe systems commonly found aboard marine vessels. Candidates must be able to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding procedures while maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Weld pipe systems using approved marine welding procedures.
• Perform GTAW (TIG), SMAW (Stick), FCAW, and/or GMAW (MIG) welding processes as required.
• Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, copper nickel, and aluminum piping systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and work packages.
• Fit, align, and tack pipe components prior to welding.
• Ensure all welds meet quality standards and pass visual and NDT inspections.
• Follow all shipyard safety policies and procedures.
• Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and aboard vessels as required.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
• Collaborate with pipefitters, supervisors, and quality control personnel to complete projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of marine pipe welding experience preferred.
• Experience working in shipyards, marine repair facilities, or new construction environments.
• Ability to pass a marine pipe welding test.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and isometric drawings.
• Knowledge of marine piping systems and applicable welding codes.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and various shifts as needed.
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance record.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, heights, and varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
