R&P is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the U.S. Navy's LPD 17 Shipbuilding Program (PMS 377) in Pascagoula, MS, for Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) and Mission Systems. Areas of support include installation and testing, light off, software installation, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance/repair, systems integration, engineering and technical support for ships at the building yard.R&P offers a highly competitive compensation package that includes contributions towards health insurance, 401(k) matching, and other non-salary benefits. Exact salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.ResponsibilitiesSupport on Deck/Mission Systems equipment.Support the Test Division in support of ship acquisition, integration and industrial and post-delivery test activities.Troubleshooting, repairing, and testing shipboard electrical systems and Interior Communications equipment.Support development and review of test procedures and witness equipment and system testing.Inspect equipment installations.Provide on-site test engineering and technical support for ship industrial testing.Establish and maintain an effective liaison with Supervisor of Shipbuilding and with other Navy, Government, and Contractor activities as required.Participate in at sea trials at other locations such as Norfolk VA, San Diego CA, Mayport FL, Pearl Harbor HI and Sasebo Japan.QualificationsMinimum requirement: High School diploma or GED plus at least 5-10+ years of relevant work experience.Associates degree in engineering discipline is preferred but not required.Active Secret Clearance or eligible to obtain one.DoD/Navy ACAT I Program and Amphibious Assault Ship Class Platform experience is a plus.Experience with Deck System is preferred.Physical capabilities: Ability to stand, walk, perform repetitive bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching for extended periods (up to 8 hours) without undue fatigue; capacity to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds with or without assistance; muscular strength and endurance to support body for long periods.Equal Employment OpportunityR&P Technologies provides equal opportunity for all persons and prohibits discrimination in employment because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability (including pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions), veteran or marital status, or any other factor prohibited by law.
